Arranmore is an inhabited island three miles off the North West coast of Ireland. It is one of the few remaining Gaeltacht (native Irish speaking) areas left in Ireland. 529 people live permanently on the island, but in the summer the population is swelled by visiting tourists.

The Folklore Project is a multi-lingual attempt to gather traditional stories, histories, poems, reminiscences, and old wives tales and publish a record, a time capsule from a bygone era.
I used the metaphor of an old tobacco tin, such as can still be found occasionally, rusting on a rocky beach. Filled with letters, memories and keepsakes, preserved somehow, despite the battering of the Atlantic Ocean.
